Finally I’ve settled down a bit from my two Italy big trips and one short Shanghai trip this summer. I’m back in Hong Kong already and immediately being thrown into the massive typhoon season these days. Few days ago, I’ve invited to one of the most fashionable city events in Central, “Yellow Hour With Veuve Clicquot“. Veuve Clicquot has launched this campaign with 14 top restaurants in town to promote their legendary yellow label champagne, and this is the 3rd round already with a new theme, Clicquot-With-A-Sticq (you probably have guessed what’s the combination of champagne and skewer bites).
Hong Kong is such a vivid and wine-friendly city where you can find a big variety of champagne. Veuve Clicquot is definitely wrapped with its “Wonder Woman” legend! The story of how this label is born within the hands of Madame Clicquot, is another showcase of the rising woman power today. “In an era when women were excluded from the business world, she dared to assume the head of the company, a role she undertook with passion and determination. Madame Clicquot’s character might be summarized with two words: audacious and intelligent.” I really love this short summary which connects me more than the champagne itself. If you are interested in the brand story, you can start from here.
Dry but fresh taste of the yellow label really opens your bud and stimulates the entire happy atmosphere of the stunning sunset city hours when we were in Armani Aqua, Mak Mak and Ce La Vi. That night was exactly the “dawn” before typhoon haito, which lovely brought us the cool breeze when we were on the terrace of Armani Aqua and Ce La Vi, both of which serve a cute pack of screwer with a twist of Japanese and Western cuisine. I was surprised to find that instead of a glass, Ce La Vi is serving a whole bottle and offering 3 different sauces including their homemade BBQ sauce. Coming to Mak Mak which is the new Thai culinary kitchen nested in Landmark, we were spoiled by the pork neck screwers with traditional peanut satay sauces and I fell in love with those fresh and sweet salad in between the sip of champagne and meaty bite.
// 在两次意大利、一次上海的风尘仆仆之后，终于我可以在香港喘一口气，只可惜香港的鬼天气没给我几天风和日丽的好光景。几天前，我受邀参加了城里最具时尚气息的Veuve Clicquot欢乐时光活动。Veuve Clicquot发动14间地处中环的摩登”厨房“大搞”香槟配美食的特别活动，用的也是她们家最受欢迎的黄标香槟酒。
“In an era when women were excluded from the business world, she dared to assume the head of the company, a role she undertook with passion and determination. Madame Clicquot’s character might be summarized with two words: audacious and intelligent.”
Check out those lovely offers from 3 restaurants with prices below, and “don’t” try to make your after-work drinking business in a row.
