If you are a solo (female) traveler, you probably know what you can see in a solo trip would be totally different from a trip with your buddies! If you are never a solo traveler, I’m writing here to show you what I saw in my solo hike to Barcelona Castle…
Kids fun: football, laugh and buddy time
It was my starting point of this solo hike all the way from the city centre towards the top of the hill where Montjuïc Castle is located. Those super active kids were by their 3-people group. Just narrow street and wall? No problem.
Secret garden with nobody just flowers!
The garden is on your way where you won’t miss it after a small fountain. It looks a bit ‘abandoned’ but out of expectation, it was very well organised with tidy cuttings and design of gardening. A walk in the garden gives a really peaceful mind-break with hints of wild flowers.
Lazy cat in her noon nap
I didn’t see a lot of kitties in Barcelona, while this one was an exceptional. Guessing she’s one part of this romantic botanic garden, because she doesn’t mind anyone’s bothering, but enjoying her noon nap with warm sun, fresh flowers and cool stone-floor.
Cold drink break with Barcelona city view
The sand-land with a small kiosk was my first break after getting almost the Castle. The view from that point was wonderful with a natural curtain of those greens making their lives on the cliff. It was the whole Barcelona, sea on the right hand side, mountain all around the city, if you have the landmarks of Barcelona in your brain, try to find out Gaudi’s masterpieces.
Roman theatre & random music show
Couple of visitors were relaxing here, and so did I. I didn’t expect to get the closest view of Roman-style theatre here in Spain, while even it is a super mini one. Have a walk and explore those old memories from this theatre. The young local musician was practicing his own songs here, while it was indeed a music show by the theatre’s natural function of amplifying the sound.
Green garden & yellow stone-wall of the Castle
Instead of spending time in Montjuic Castle, I took more to those colours! It was a nice walk around the beautiful and elegant royal garden, while in the central of the Castle, the walk became a little tough with nothing green but sands. One of my favourite walk was the one around the outside-wall of the Castle. The wall was like a smelly old book with all the yellow pages. Walking in the shadow, the track leaded me to the hidden cave where people could get the best and stunning view of blue sea.
绿色花园 & 土黄色的城堡外墙
Modern port view with the killing blues
It was like another new world after getting around all the historic buildings. Here, at the back side of the Castle, we were facing to the new port straightly. The stunning sea blue was connecting the mild sky blue, and in the shadow, I felt a nap was coming to me soon.
